Marie is a qualified and registered acupuncturist, with a Diploma in Acupuncture, and a Licentiate in Acupuncture from Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China. She holds a European Diploma in Bio-Energy Therapy, and is a qualified Touch for Health Kinesiology Practitioner. Marie is a member of the Northern Ireland Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NIATCM), and the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association (AFPA). She is a graduate of Queen’s University, Belfast.
Marie qualified in 2004 as a Traditional Chinese Acupuncturist, having studied for three years with the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland. The course was taught by internationally renowned lecturers and clinicians from Beijing and Nanjing Universities in China. A local practising medical doctor gave courses in western anatomy, physiology and pathology.
On completion of her diploma, Marie undertook further training in a large university hospital in Nanjing, gaining experience in treating a wide range of conditions with acupuncture. She also attended lectures at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and was awarded a Licentiate in Acupuncture.
After becoming aware of the profoundly beneficial effects of Bio-Energy therapy, Marie was trained by Michael O’Doherty, the co-founder of the Plexus Bio-Energy System, gaining a European Diploma in Bio-Energy Therapy, and becoming a registered member of the Plexus Institute of Bio-Energy. The Plexus Bio-Energy System was developed over twenty years, is scientifically based, and has a strong record of patient success. The course focused on intensive practical training, and extensive experience in Plexus clinics.
Marie has recently qualified in Touch for Health Kinesiology, which complements her acupuncture and bio-energy practices, allowing her to provide a completely holistic approach to her patients’ well-being. Touch for Health is an internationally practised therapy, recognised for maintaining optimal health for people of all ages.
